Safe and sound in Columbus

We arrived yesterday around 2 pm. El Diego's grandparents were quite happy to see him and he got to meet his Uncle Dan, as well as his Great Grandfather, Poppy. Diego also met his Great Uncle Sam and Aunt Jessie.

Today Diego is going to meet even more family. He has gotten bigger and is able to hold his neck up longer and longer. His head is still bobble-head like, but he's definitely getting stronger.

Our drive north was fairly uneventful. We left Friday ahead of all the evacuations and El Diego simply fell asleep for the majority of the drive.

Here is Diego surrounded by some of his buddies!

Screw you, Gustav!

Hmmm...I don't think we're gonna stick around to see if the forcast is accurate. Looks like El Diego is gonna have his first road trip.

My son the comedian.

He makes me laugh at least.

Big Boy

Yesterday, Diego took his first trip to the grocery store. So, we got him all dressed up for the occasion, including socks and shoes. Too cute! He slept the entire time.

We've also been attempting to find a cute hat in our vast amount of clothing that fits his tiny noggin. This was the closest we came!

My mother brought my old chime ball down to me the last time she was here and we have been putting it near Diego in hopes he'd play with it. This morning I put him down after his breakfast and he wouldn't sleep so I gave him his chime ball and his Pooh bear and went to wash dishes. When I came back, he was laughing and talking to Pooh and hitting his chime ball to make the rocking horses move and the chime sound.

Six weeks old.

Diego will be six weeks old tomorrow, where does the time go? I only have one week left on maternity leave! Took the boy to the doctor to weigh him and he has put on 2.5 pounds, weighs in at 8lbs 11 oz! Getting so big. Here are some of the latest pics.

Now that's a fungia face!

My little sheik after his bath.

This is Diego's idea of a pacifier!

Happy Baby!

Nothing I like more than a happy baby...who seems to have finally gotten the hang of this night vs. day thing!

Now if he would only take his paci for more than 10 minutes, then we'd be all set.

New Camera!

We finally broke down and purchased a new digital camera. Now I don't have to wait 30 seconds for the picture to take and we can catch all these wonderful faces on the baby (including our new title pic!).

My baby boy is quite the character as you can see.....he makes faces at me all day long!

Happy One month B-day!

The little guy turned one month old this past Saturday. He's growing like crazy, I swear he's put on a pound in the last week and a half since we saw the doctor. Here are some new pics....look mama and daddy do exist!

My future is so bright....

Today Debra and Steven threw a baby shower for Diego. He got some cool presents and got to meet more people, though he pretty much was asleep the whole time. So far every time we have taken him outside it has rained. He's 3 for 3. Here he is pimpin' his dad's Maui Jim's. Guess I'll have to get him his own pair eventually.

Grandpa Flory comes to visit

My original due date finally rolled around and that meant Grandpa Flory could finally visit his first grandchild. I think it was love at first sight.

Aunt Becky also finally got to meet little Diego...and Grandma and Aunt Jenny just couldn't stay away!

Grandma also brought along a new tub for the little guy. It seems she didn't like the sink bath idea, something about getting too close to the faucet ;)

Finally, here is Daddy's idea of watching the baby, so Mama could get ready for bed (yes, he is simultaneously holding Diego (well, sort of) and playing video games).
