Merry Christmas!

I better post this now before life gets too hectic, what with packing and work and traveling and all. I hope everyone has a wonderful holiday, a safe holiday and that you get to spend it with your loved ones (or at least most of them). We are sending you all a hug from us! We hope you have a happy and exciting New Year, because I know that we are all excited for what the new year holds in this family!

All our love, always,
K, A and D

Happy Feet

We have been enjoying ABC Family channel's 25 days of Christmas because I can show D all the old Christmas specials I used to watch when I was a kid. He loved watching Mickey's Christmas Carol and the old Winnie the Pooh specials. Tonight, Happy Feet was on and I finally caught Diego on tape doing his Happy Feet dance(he's never seen the movie, but that's what mama calls his dance (she saw the movie)). He makes me laugh every time he does it, especially with that humongous grin on his face!

Haircut time again.

Fortunately for mama, D's hair grew back, curls and all, from his rather drastic first haircut this summer. Unfortunately that means it was getting unruly again. In order to avoid an appointment with the shears and another military 'do, we took Diego to the barber. Not quite the good idea I thought it would be. He hated it! And the guy couldn't really do a good job, so I'm trimming the strays at home...next time I'll just do it myself!

It's shorter but still has some of the curl!

A day in the life......

ok....maybe more like a dinner in the life.

Big News!

For those of you that have not heard yet, the Franco family is leaving the Crescent City for the City of Brotherly love. Yes that's right, we are leaving the South for Philadelphia, PA.

AJ has taken a new job as an intraoperative neuromonitor (he's the guy that watches the brain waves during brain surgery to make sure they don't kill the patient (in simplified terms of course) along with various other duties upon which I will not elaborate at the moment). KR gets the best job, however, as she gets to be a SAHM (that's stay-at-home-mom) for little Diego and hopefully another little bundle of joy sometime in the near future. So come February, you will find us East Coasters. It's going to be a big change for us all and a stressful move, but we are really excited to start a new adventure in a new city. Once we've got a house we hope to have many visitors (hint hint).

Here are some fun pictures of the little goober taken in the last month or so!

In case it isn't blatantly obvious...my son is a ham!

Let's go again! (and he did....ten times until we had to pull him away and take him home for a nap!).

Diego doesn't often get bathtime because he likes to shower in the morning with us (or "bath-bath" as he likes to call it) but every once in a while it is fun to watch him choose which toys to bathe with, to watch him toss them in the water and to watch him attempt to use mama as a step stool to climb in fully clothed. He just likes to splash mama and get her all wet!

Thanksgiving 2009

We spent a quiet weekend at home this year...mama cooked a humongous feast and daddy and Diego gobbled it up. Diego loved lighting the candles and the angel carousel in the center of the table (we have to light them every night now!). We also visited City Park and looked at the lights. He liked the train exhibit, playing in the tropical rain forest in the botanical gardens and visiting storybook land. It was a very peaceful holiday.

Yep...AJ and Diego are helping mama make pineapple "refridgedator" cake!
