Random picture Pre-haircut

Bye Bye :(

I finally had to acquiesce this weekend. After weeks of telling AJ that he couldn't cut D's hair, it finally was just getting too long. What I thought was going to be a simple TRIM turned into a full out buzz session (Yes, I cried....a LOT). Yes, my baby boy's beautiful curls are all gone, likely never to return (mine didn't after I cut them off). I still don't think I like it, hope it grows fast. AJ on the otherhand loves it (I think because he and D are twins now). He claims that there was a reverse Sampson effect occurring with Diego and his hair. Wouldn't you know it, the minute his hair was gone, Diego started climbing through his tunnel (previously he wouldn't go near it) and he took 5 steps on his own (multiple times...YEAH!!!!). I'm not so sure I believe it, but I am glad D has gotten his courage up to try both.

Birthday Weekend Festivities!

Diego had a great birthday weekend, despite having a rather nasty cough/cold and about 4 teeth coming in. We went to Lake Ponchartrain on Saturday. It was hot and Diego leapt out of arms to get into the water. We took a quick dip then went out to lunch. On Sunday, his actual birthday, Diego was surprised with his new, improved, expanded playyard. Mom and Dad got him his very own tent and a tunnel to go with it. He loves the tent, but he isn't so sure about the tunnel! We opened some gifts from his aunts and uncles (Diego wanted to use the big boy sippy cups from Auntie Nae and Tio Rene immediately!) and went to brunch. Basically, we had a pretty leisurely day, Diego played in his tent and we marveled that a year has gone by so fast!

Baby gotta brand new pair of shoes!

In an attempt to get Diego used to big boy shoes and to help him with his balance as he attempts to learn to walk, we have graduated him to his first pair of New Balances courtesy of Grandma. They might be a little big still, but he loves them!






Finally, AJ is threatening to cut D's hair this weekend, so here are some final pics of his beautiful curls.

4th of July!
