First trip to the beach!

We decided to take Diego to the beach for the first time today. The weather report said cloudy with thunderstorms, but I knew there wouldn't be any at the beach, and, indeed, we had a beautiful, breezy sunny day. The water was cold and Diego kinda liked putting his feet in the surf, until the waves rolled in about to his knees. He practiced walking to his Daddy while holding my hands and splashed his hands in the waves. He really LOVED the sand.

In fact, I think he ate more sand today than he did lunch!

Diego had a great time crawling and digging and standing in the sand.

(For some reason this pic reminds me or a meerkat or prairie dog)

(He really wanted into that picnic basket!)

(Although you probably can't tell, D was standing up here all by himself for a good couple of minutes)

He was a happy boy, for about 2 hours and then he wanted nothing more to do with the itchy stuff. Downside to this wonderful adventure....all the freakin' sand all over everything. We all came home and Diego had another first...his first shower (Loved it!). Thus...the resulting naked baby pics!

Vegas-Baby!

Just got back from taking the baby with us to Vegas. Have to say Diego is an excellent traveler. Slept the entire 3 hour flight there and played for most of the flight back with a minimal amount of fussing. He LOVED the buffet. We gave him anything and everything off of our plates, mac'n'cheese, pulled pork, beans, but his favs are definitely mashed potatoes and fruit (especially strawberries, although he seems to also like honeydew alot). We spent a lot of time in the pool. Diego loved the water, wasn't too crazy about being dunked, but didn't cry, just got really clingy. We can't wait to take him swimming again in July when we are in Columbus.

Laurel's wedding was beautiful and it was great to finally get to meet Miss Maia (and of course see her parents too!). Diego was so cute with her, giving her kisses and letting Maia poke him in the head. I'm going to take that as a good sign.

He was definitely the entertainment at our table, throwing kisses, eating fruit and carrots and mastering the art of waving "bye-bye" (although he mostly waves to himself). He also has gotten much better at feeding himself and has finally mastered picking up small rice puffs and cheerios. There are two kids in his class that are walking on their own now, so I fully expect him to be walking in the next month or two.

He'll also park your car for you...but only if you tip well ! ;)
