Gas Buddy!!

OK, this is completely unrelated to our day to day lives, but useful to anyone at the same time. Now that gas prices are crazy expensive with constantly changing prices all over the place I have been using this website to help keep tabs on gas prices at various gas stations. The site is called, GasBuddy.com, and you can use it to find the cheapest gas in your own area. That's pretty much it for now.

Techie post of the day - RSS.

Ok, so I enabled RSS feeds (listed at the bottom of our page as "Subscribe to") from our site for those of you that may utilize these feeds. I'm still sorta wading my way through the usefulness of RSS and the accompanying RSS readers or aggregators. Though now that many browsers include RSS capabilities I don't think it's too bad an idea. If you like the idea of opening one page to get all your news, updates, etc...then RSS is for you. It essentially just saves you the time of going to various sites to get the same information that is delivered to you via RSS. RSS = Really Simple Syndication...so the content is simply sent to your reader (once you subscribe) and you don't have to visit the site. I'm still up in the air on if I like this method versus just going to the various sites myself...but here it is either way. Enjoy.

Happy to be home!

Finally, I'm out of the hospital and now the hard work begins. Diego is soo much fun, and so exhausting; makes you appreciate everything your parents went through to raise you.

Mama and Diego were discharged from the hospital this afternoon and are now both resting well at home where they belong. Here are a few more from the last few days at the hospital. Aunt Jenny managed to nab these good shots as well as our title shot of Diego apparently laughing it up already.

Welcome Diego!!!

Diego was born this Saturday, July 12, 2008 at approximately 4:50 am. He was born 2 days premature at 36 weeks 5 days of gestation. His weight was 6 lbs 6 oz and he is 19.5 inches long. Kelly and he are both doing well and he is feeding and of course pooing like a champ! I had to change his diaper 3 times yesterday. Well, here are a few pictures that I can put up while we are still in the hospital. Luckily the hospital has free wifi that is pretty darned fast too!

Ole!!

Last Friday the 13th Kelly mentioned how Diego had the hiccups. I was very surprised to see that I could actually see him kicking so I grabbed the video camera to see if I could capture some of that footage. Unfortunately the lighting in the room wasn't the best, but I'm pretty sure you can see where he's busy hiccuping away with his regular kicks. Enjoy. Use "diego" to watch the video.

This Sunday I hung these 5 drawings that Grandma Flory drew for Diego. They definitely make the wall look a lot less bare.

New crib!

I put together the crib that arrived earlier this week and we rearranged the furniture in both our room and the spare room. The crib assembly was pretty easy, having few parts really helps! So here is the new layout of our room now with the crib as well. When we get our dresser for Diego, that will have to go in there as well. Luckily we have plenty of room so it shouldn't be a problem.

It's new for us!

This Saturday I flew to Dallas to pick up our newest car, a 6 spd manual 2005 Jetta GLI. I got a pretty good deal and since Dallas is 520 miles away, I knew that the drive back would be 8 hours max so I figured this was doable. Picking up the car was very easy, the dealer met me at the airport and completing the paperwork didn't take long. The car was in tip-top shape and I was outta there by 12:30 pm.

Here are a few pictures of the car I took today. I had to get all the bugs washed off from the trip so it looks very clean now. I have to say that driving this car is really a lot of fun. The turbo is awesome and there is power in every gear...all 6 of 'em! The interior is actually black, the flash just makes it look gray. Those are 18" BBS rims with 225/40 ZR18 Goodyear Eagle F1 DS-G3 tires on them.

Aunt Jenny and Aunt Becky visit

Becky and Jenny and her friend Caetie came to visit us this past weekend and partake of the rainy Jazzfest festivities. Fortunately, Jenny and Caetie decided to go on the one day it didn't rain, and Becky decided to keep me company in the lab. Alier and I decided to leave Jazzfest to the younger, not pregnant crowd. Instead, we visited the French Quarter in the rain on Saturday. Here are some pics from the weekend. And, yes.....I am only 26 weeks along and I do know that I am ginormous. This kid better weigh a lot when I finally pop him out.

Diego's 24 week checkup

Diego posed for some new pictures yesterday. The best news is that the placenta is no longer low-lying and momma's cervix is still shut up tight. Looks like Diego is sticking it out for the long haul.
